Having lived in Hong Kong for 25 years, my wife and I moved back to the UK in 2023. Both of us continued working as independent contractors for our former Hong Kong employers, so we needed to set up a UK company to handle those income flows. At the time, the UK was in the process of changing its “non-dom” regime, introducing a new system that allowed people like us to bring funds back onshore on relatively advantageous terms.
